• Monitor and administer medication prescribed to students and maintain medications in a secure manner.
• Provide for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness.
• Authorize exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding children and their families and medical records.
• Conduct the student evaluation component of Medical Review and assist in planning, implementing and evaluating the Individualized Education Program that a student's special education team may create, as required by ISBE rule.
